A family is the first school where children learns love, kindness, respect and humanity. Families are the foundation stone of society. To spread importance of family, United Nations has assigned May 15 as the International Day of Families.
The year 1994 was proclaimed as the International Year of Families by the United Nations. In 1993, the UN General Assembly decided in a resolution (A/RES/47/237) that 15 May of every year should be observed as The International Day of Families.
